Simplifying Heat Pump Installations with Our New Electrical Kit
For heat pump installers working under our Alto Assured MCS Umbrella Scheme, getting the electrical side of an installation right is just as important as fitting the heat pump itself. To help streamline this process, we’ve developed an Electrical Installation Kit, designed to save time, reduce hassle, and ensure compliance with MCS accreditation standards.
Heat Pump Electrical Installation Kit
What’s Included in the Kit?
Our Electrical Installation Kit has been specifically designed for heat pumps, providing all the essential components required for a compliant installation. It includes a consumer unit, a residual current device (RCD) for electrical safety, and miniature circuit breakers (MCBs) configured for the heat pump, controls, and immersion heater.
While the Electrical Installation Kit provides all the essential circuit breakers in a dedicated sub-board, electricians will still need to provide additional materials, such as isolator switches, cables, and sundries, to complete the installation.
Key Features & Benefits for Installers
Pre-configured sub-board: The dedicated fuse board with all required circuit breakers eliminates installation errors by preventing incorrect breaker selection, ensuring a quick and hassle-free installation process.
Correct specification: Designed to support the heat pump, controls, and immersion heater, this product speeds up commissioning by ensuring all components meet the necessary specifications, avoiding unnecessary delays.
Space for an electric meter: The space provided allows for easy installation of a heat pump meter, simplifying electrical work and reducing complexity for electricians during the setup process.
Ensuring compliance: Meets both manufacturer and regulatory requirements, providing peace of mind for installers.
Single-phase compatibility: Suitable only for single-phase heat pumps. For three-phase systems, the electrician will need to source the necessary components themselves.
Join Our MCS Umbrella Scheme
For installers not yet part of our network, our Alto Assured MCS Umbrella Scheme offers unparalleled support for heating installers looking to venture into the heat pump market. If you’re looking to install heat pumps but don’t want to go through the process of becoming MCS accredited yourself, our MCS umbrella scheme provides a straightforward solution.
By joining, you can carry out MCS-approved installations without the need for individual certification. This allows you to offer customers access to government grants, such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, while ensuring the peace of mind that comes with MCS-backed installations. Plus, you’ll remain fully compliant with industry standards—all without the hassle of managing the administrative load yourself.
