As of the 1st April 2020, the payment tariffs under the Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) schemes have increased for both ground source heat pumps and air source heat pumps.
This is even further positive news for the scheme considering that only last month the Renewable Heat Incentive was extended to March 2022, and further reiterates our message that right now is the best time to consider installing a heat pump in your home or commercial building.
New Domestic RHI Tariffs
The latest payment tariffs for the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (dRHI) are shown below:
Ground Source Heat Pumps - 21.17 pence/kWh (previously 20.89 p/kWh)
Air Source Heat Pumps - 10.85 pence/kWh (previously 10.71 p/kWh)
This increase is the latest upwards adjustment for inflation. This means that as well as new participants on to the scheme, existing customers in receipt of dRHI payments will also see their quarterly payments increase!
Under the domestic RHI scheme there are caps on the amount of heat you earn repayment on, meaning you can earn up to around:
£10,000 for an air source heat pump
£30,000 for a ground source heat pump
