Apply For A Position as an Alto Energy Trainee Heat Pump Engineer
Become A Part Of Our Engineering Team
We're looking for an engineer to join our amazing engineering team. IVT Heat Pump customers often refer to our engineering team as being the best asset of our business. This isn't just because of the skill and expertise of our engineers, but also because of their ability to connect with people and their determination to get the job done.
Don't be put off if you don't have much (or any) experience with heat pumps - you'll be provided with all the training you need, both on-the-job as well as office-based training directly with our Technical Director. If you are the type of person who likes diagnosing problems and has an interest in new and innovative technologies, then we would love to receive your application.
What We Are Looking For?
We are looking for people who:
Have completed an apprenticeship in any relevant trade. This could be Plumbing & Heating, Electrical, Refrigeration or HVAC, or any relevant Engineering apprenticeship
Enjoy working with new technology. You'll receive all the training you need, but you need to be comfortable working with controls, smart devices and ready to learn new control systems as they emerge
Are happy being on the road. IVT Heat Pump customers are spread fairly far and wide. We won't be sending you up to Scotland every week, but there is a requirement to travel which will result in some long days and overnight stays
Take satisfaction from finishing the job and doing it well
Are able to manage their time and be self motivated. This is so important, as our customers are busy people who rely on us and expect great customer service
Have a full UK driving license with no more than 6 points on it
What Does An Engineer Do?
As an Alto Energy Engineer, you are responsible for servicing and maintaining existing heat pump installations, fault diagnosis on heat pumps when things go wrong, commissioning new installations and also carry out surveys for customers considering a heat pump installation.
The job is not an office job. You'll be on the road in your own van, visiting customers. The type of work you'll be carrying out will be physical, for example you might be working in a basement plant room or in outbuildings.
Whilst you will carry out a lot of your work on your own, you will be part of the Alto Energy technical team, which includes our team of excellent engineers as well as our office-based technical support team.
Your working hours will vary week to week, and will tend to be longer in winter. The standard working week is 40 hours, though your attendance pattern can require you to start and finish any time between 06:00 and 21:00.
