Are you ready to wave goodbye to your gas boiler?
Before applying for a grant to upgrade your boiler, it’s important to check if your property is suitable for this type of system.
Factors to consider include when your building was built and if it has any insulation in the outer walls or roof. You should also look at whether it has single, double or triple glazed windows, and how many bedrooms it has. It’s quick and easy to do this on the Government website.
What types of grants are available for upgrading my boiler?
Because the Government is keen to encourage the uptake of heat pumps, they’re offering a number of grants. These include:
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme which is suitable for retrofits and self-build properties, and domestic and non-domestic buildings. It can provide you with up to £7,500 for air source or ground source heat pumps.
Home Energy Scotland Loan which is interest-free and has cashback available.
Alto Energy Limited can not only provide information on funding but building regulations in relation to heat pumps. Air source heat pumps are the most common variations of this technology. One reason for this is because they suit a number of different buildings.
Meeting building regulations and improving the thermal performance of each property can be difficult, so we want to do everything we can to make it more simple.
