In this blog series we look at just how easy it is for property developers to incorporate heat pumps into their latest housing developments. We are following a live project for 5 plots in Yorkshire with one of our regular developer customers, and describe each stage of the journey, highlighting how Alto Energy can bring value and convenience to your project.
Step 3: Product Delivery & Installation
Once we have completed all the design work, it is then time for the hard work to begin! Every developer client will go about their business in a slightly different way, which is why Alto Energy adopts a flexible approach to deliveries to fit around your build schedule.
Arranging Delivery
We have a dedicated logistics team here at Alto Energy and operate our own warehouse. As the UK distributor for IVT Bosch, we hold UK stock for the full domestic ground source heat pump range. So, if you’re doing a ground source heat pump project with us, your order is almost certain to be available in stock and available with next day delivery if required. Likewise if your order is for an IVT AirX air source heat pump, we will bring the stock into our warehouse, and get it shipped out to you at your convenience.
If you’re doing a Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump project with us, then we order this direct to site from Mitsubishi’s UK stock holding. Our strong relationship with Mitsubishi as a Business Solutions Provider means that we are in constant dialogue with the delivery teams at Mitsubishi, and can coordinate your delivery for when you need it.

Installation
Once you’ve got your hands on the equipment, it’s time to install!
Training Courses
If your heating contractors haven’t installed a heat pump before, there really is nothing to worry about. We always say to installers on our training courses that if you can install a boiler you can install a heat pump.
Furthermore, we offer free training courses for qualified heating and plumbing engineers, which provide all the knowledge a competent installer would require to install a heat pump.
Technical support
Once the installation gets under way, help is always on hand. You will have already received our detailed, bespoke schematics for the installation. These provide all the mechanical and electrical details for the installation.
However, if at any point your installers get stuck or just need a hand with something, then our technical support team is only a phone call away. We provide free, unlimited technical support with all heat pumps that we supply, giving you access to some of the industry’s leading technical experts with this technology.
OUR MCS UMBRELLA
Alto Energy’s unique business model has been designed specifically to work alongside self builders and developers. In addition to supporting your on-site trades with the installation by offering free training, detailed schematics and unlimited technical support, every single installation is inspected, commissioned and signed off by one of our own engineers.
This process means that our handover pack - which you receive once everything is signed off and completed - contains a comprehensive suite of guarantees. The beneficiary of these guarantees is the homeowner, which gives you the peace of mind as the housebuilder that your customers will be well looked after when they move in and enjoy their new homes.

Next Steps
Once the heat pump is installed, the next step is commissioning. This is where our own Alto Energy engineer will visit site to inspect the installation, commission it and sign it all off under our MCS umbrella. You can read more about this in the next blog in this series.
